Content and structure

The prayers and blessings are in Hebrew, transliterated, and also translated into German. There are therefore three ways to read the prayers. Like other Siddur books (prayer sets for various Jewish occasions), this booklet begins on the right and is turned to the left. Ready for the festival?

This booklet does not contain nearly all the Hebrew prayers for this festival. A Machzor (prayer book with a complete collection of prayers) can contain hundreds of pages. Rather, this guide is intended as an introduction and to help recite the basic prayers and blessings. The most important activities are briefly explained so that you can quickly get started and celebrate the festival without extensive preparation. You can simply open the booklet and read it. The explanations can also be read aloud to everyone present.
